“Camp is all about the magic .” ~ Volunteer Staff Member |

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Camp Exclamation Point team. Camp! is a very important and rewarding program for the children it serves. It also adds tremendous value to the lives of the volunteer staff that often return year after year to work with us. We pride ourselves on our competent, caring (and mostly volunteer) staff who offer a multitude of programs and activities to our campers. We place a particular emphasis on empowering campers to make choices that directly influence their experience at camp, while providing an example of a functioning community of campers and staff wherein kindness and cooperation are modeled and taught. A broad range of experience, age and talent is represented on our staff. Artists, teachers, students, lawyers, legislators, carpenters, secretaries, clerks, technicians, musicians, managers, parents and more become cooks, counselors and lifeguards for a week and bring their interests and love to share with campers. Each summer we look for counselors, lifeguards, boating instructors, camp health care staff, and kitchen staff. If you have an interest in working with a diverse staff providing a week of summer fun to children from across Vermont, we'd love to talk with you more! Camp Exclamation Point, Inc. is a non-profit organization that operates solely on funds generated through grants and donations from individuals or community organizations. As a result, camp staff positions are volunteer based. Staff receive room, board, and a camp t-shirt for the time they are with us. Beyond that, our rewards come from knowing we have provided a week of summer camp to children whose families would otherwise be unable to afford to send them. That, and the opportunity to work with some incredibly skilled and dedicated staff. For those new to Camp Exclamation Point, we are a weeklong summer camp run on Lake Fairlee, Vermont, for boys and girls ages 8 t0 16. Most of our campers’ families are involved in the agriculture, dairy or timber industries within the state of Vermont and have limited resources. For those of you familiar with CAMP!..................it’s a great place to spend a week each summer! Check out the article on CAMP! in Vermont Life Magazine Article If you are interested in coming to CAMP! as staff, here's what you need to know: We are currently setting the dates for next summer's camp, and typically camp runs the second or third week in August. There are three days of staff training prior to campers' arrival, and that gives us enough time to settle in and get ready for the campers’ arrival on Sunday. All staff members are expected to be available during those dates. If you are interested in applying to volunteer for a week of working with other amazing individuals to provide an excellent summer experience for children, here is what you need to do first! Complete the staff application, which is located at the bottom of this page. Mail the application to our attention at:
When we receive your application we will be in touch with you by phone or e-mail to arrange a time to talk. We will also go over any other questions you, or we, may have. If you have questions about the paperwork, or about the summer in general, feel free to contact us by e-mail at campexcl@gmail.com, or by phone at (802)899-4456.
